Convocation | Dr. Maya Angelou | Tickets & Severe Weather | Parking & Seating

Outdoor Convocation in Schoellkopf Stadium--Tickets are NOT Needed

Convocation on Saturday, May 24th at 12:00 PM, is held in the football stadium and does NOT require tickets. However, seating is first-come, first-served. Guests may start arriving as early as 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM to find a seat. The ceremony will be held outside in a normal rain situation, so be prepared with umbrellas, coats, etc.

Indoor Severe-Weather Plan Convocation--Tickets ARE Needed

Our severe weather plan is defined as potentially dangerous weather, torrential downpour, high winds, lightning, unsafe conditions for our guests to sit outside.

If we determine the morning of Commencement that we need to move inside, then admission to the indoor ceremonies will be by ticket only.

Each student was mailed 2 severe-weather tickets, in late February, in their Commencement information packet. If a student would like to attend Convocation in the event of severe weather, then one of the tickets must be used for him/herself.

We cannot issue replacement or additional tickets for the indoor (severe weather plan) ceremony, as seating will be very limited. Thank you for your cooperation.
